Kenneth Cobb and Company Firm History

In November 1959, a Greenville, S.C. CPA firm, Harlon Riggins & Co., purchased the practice of a public accountant in Mullins, South Carolina.  Kenneth Cobb became the partner in charge of the Mullins office.  

On April 1, 1967, Kenneth Cobb withdrew from Harlon Riggins & Co. and continued the Mullins practice.  

During the following several years, the firm merged and de-merged with George Short, CPA, and for a period of time operated under the name of Short & Cobb.  After the separation of practices with George Short, the firm's name was changed to Kenneth Cobb & Co.  

From 1973 to 1987, the firm went through several mergers, acquisitions, separations, and name changes.  On January 1, 1987, the firm name was changed to Kenneth Cobb & Company.    

On January 1, 1989, Charles Jones was admitted as a partner in the firm.  

Effective January 1, 1991, the firm was incorporated as a professional corporation with Kenneth Cobb, Rusty Richardson, and Charles Jones as shareholders.   

On May 16, 1994, the firm acquired the practice of Ham and Company, P.A.  

On August 1, 1998, Rusty Richardson withdrew from the firm, leaving Charles Jones as sole shareholder.  

On January 1, 1999, Will Harrelson, Smith Brooks and Brenda Rogers (Jackson) were admitted as shareholders of the firm.
